World Photography day – 19th August
Class 8
August 19 is celebrated as World Photography Day, a day to pay homage to the history of photography, to celebrate the present and leave a positive trail for the future. World Photography Day originates from the invention of the daguerreotype, a photographic processes developed by Louis Daguerre. On January 9, 1839 The French Academy of Sciences announced the process and a few months later, on August 19, 1839, the French government announced the invention as a gift free to the world.
To commemorate this day, students of class 8 had a small program during their assembly. Nishchitha of class 8A and Ayaan Khan of class 8B spoke about the history of photography, the first selfie, and the first digital photograph. Students were told as how a photograph has the power to explain what even words fail to explain.
Class 9
The students of class 9 B celebrated Photography Day with great interest. The assembly started with the school prayer.
Komal presented a PPT and Harshitha spoke about the importance of the day.

If not for photographs, the world would be robbed of innumerable memories and milestones. Serving as a peek into the days gone by, photographs are so much more than just nostalgia. Photography is an important tool in the preservation of history and an effective mode of storytelling that transcends the boundaries of languages and time.
World Photography Day is observed on August 19 annually to celebrate the art of taking photos. It is observed all over the world to pay tribute to the incredible art form ‘photography.’
Students of class 7 put up a short programme during the morning assembly to observe this great day.
Ameena Afreen of 7 ‘A’, Poojitha and Kushala of 7 ‘B’, Niharika and Bhrithi of 7 C spoke about the significance of this day. Shreeyash of 7 C shared the picture of the first photo taken. Pratik Simha of 7 B presented a ppt on photography which was very informative.
