Quit India Day – 2021
August 8th 1942 was an important day in the history of freedom struggle. The ‘Quit India Movement’ was launched by Mahatma Gandhi which became an important milestone in the Indian freedom struggle. Under the leadership of Gandhiji, people across India came together to drive away the Britishers from India.
Students and teachers of R.V. Public School organized a programme during the assembly session on 9th August.
A video was shown to the students on ‘The Quit India Movement.’ A ppt with colourful pictures was shared to explain about the great movement. Pavan of 7 C spoke about the movement and shared one picture.
Though it was a short programme it kindled the spirit of patriotism in us.
Quit India Day and Nagasaki Day Class 9
Nagasaki Day is observed on 9th August. On this day US dropped an atomic bomb on the Nagasaki city of Japan in 1945 during World War II. The first bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima and the second was dropped on Nagasaki on 9th August which killed around 74,000 people or more. Suchetha spoke about the importance of Nagasaki day. She had made a PPT which she presented.
The Quit India Movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi on 8th August 1942 at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). Also known as the Bharat Chhodo Andolan, this movement was a mass civil disobedience that took place in the country.
During the launch of the movement, Mahatma Gandhi delivered a speech amid a ‘do or die’ situation. He demanded that the British must leave India immediately or face dire consequences.
Every year on 8th August, the anniversary of Quit India Movement is marked and observed by paying tribute to freedom fighters who without a doubt laid their lives for the country and its people. Brundha spoke about Quit India Day and Ananya had made a PPT on Quit India movement.
