Class 3- 7th International Yoga Day – 21st June,2021

Yoga is an ancient philosophy. It originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. Maharshi Patanjali is said to have imparted the yoga sutras to his disciples first.

Yoga is a way to exercise our bodies, our breath, and our minds all at the same time. Yoga makes us feel great!

Yoga is a practice and philosophy that teaches that happiness is our natural state. When the body and the mind are out of balance, we do not feel this happiness. With the help of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and focusing within, we bring back this harmony to our body and mind, and come back to this natural state of happiness.

We celebrated Yoga day in Class 3 by talking to the enthusiastic children. They displayed vrukshasana, sarvangasana, practiced breathing tecniques.

We watched the video of Mrs.Vijaya ma’am who performed yogasanas. It was a successful event.

International Yoga Day was celebrated virtually on 21st June 2021 by the students and teachers of classes VIIIA and VIIIB of RV Public School with great enthusiasm.

Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness of you, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being.”

Students and teachers wore white dress to commemorate the day. Students were briefed about the importance of the day and were shown a video on various postures and asanas demonstrated by our Yoga teacher Mrs.Vijaya. All the students performed sitting and standing asanas. Students were encouraged to practice yoga regularly to remain fit and improve concentration.
