Educational trip to Rangoli Gardens
CLASS III
Although industrialization has brought necessities to our homes in today’s modern life, we are not self-sufficient as our ancestors. The present generation is born in towns or cities and are unaware of the importance of our villages, agriculture, the heritage, and culture of our country. It is important that our children understand the significance of this and the meaningful way of life and tradition that our ancestors lived.
Mahatma Gandhi Rural Energy and Development Institute, functioning under the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka, has built a Model Heritage Village in order to convince the next generation of Karnataka’s village culture, heritage and goodwill.
The students of class III were taken on a field trip to Rangoli gardens on 2nd September 22. Students were thrilled to see the life of people in a village, their lifestyle, variety of occupations, folk dances, unique costumes, traditional values, the rural sports, the school, doctor’s clinic and the importance of Ayurvedic medicine. Children enjoyed the visit because the model village was close to real.
